GoHighLevel September 2026 updates: the ones that change how your account runs

HighLevel shipped more than a dozen changelog entries in the last week of September 2026. We picked the six that change how agencies and service businesses set up and run their accounts, with what to do about each.

Key takeaways

  • Company and Custom Object Smart Lists can now ship inside snapshots (September 29).
  • Dashboard widgets get permanent filters by user, tag, source and more (September 24).
  • SMS no longer works on Mexico local numbers; voice and WhatsApp still do (September 29).
  • GPT-6 Sol and Luna in AI actions, Ask AI voice on mobile and an AI invoice layout builder.

Which GoHighLevel updates from September 2026 matter most?

Six changes from late September 2026 affect how accounts are set up and run: Company and Custom Object Smart Lists in snapshots, permanent filters on dashboard widgets, SMS switched off on Mexico local numbers, GPT-6 Sol and Luna in AI actions, Ask AI voice on the mobile app, and an AI-powered invoice layout builder. Each one links to HighLevel's own changelog below.

All dates come from the HighLevel changelog. We left out template packs, community moderation and ad-manager changes because they do not change how a CRM account runs day to day.

What changed with snapshots and Smart Lists?

Since September 29, 2026, snapshots can include Company Smart Lists and Custom Object Smart Lists. An agency can build a segment once, such as "companies in a given industry" or "properties in a given city", and push it to every client account in a snapshot instead of rebuilding the filter each time.

How a Smart List reaches client accounts now

Snapshot Smart ListsFlow: build and test the Smart List in the source account, add it and its fields to the snapshot, refresh the snapshot, load or push to sub-accounts.Build the Smart ListIn the source accountTest it thereCheck the resultsAdd list and fieldsTo the snapshotRefresh the snapshotAgency ViewPush to sub-accountsSame segment everywhere
Include the custom fields the list depends on.

Source: Company and Custom Object Smart Lists now supported in snapshots. HighLevel notes that "Smart Lists are often the starting point for how agencies organize and act on CRM data." To use it: Agency View, Account Snapshots, create or refresh a snapshot, select the Smart Lists and include the objects and fields they depend on, then load or push.

What to do: if you sell a snapshot or run several locations, test the Smart Lists in the source account first, then refresh the snapshot. A Smart List that depends on a custom field will not work in a sub-account that does not have that field, so include the fields in the same snapshot. If you resell GoHighLevel, our white-label and SaaS setup page covers how snapshots fit into the wider setup.

What changed on dashboards?

From September 24, 2026, general dashboard widgets can be filtered permanently by assigned user, tags, source, lead value, custom fields and attribution, can have their own date range, and can compare periods. Funnel and manual action widgets are not included yet.

Source: Configure and filter your general widgets in sub-account dashboards. The useful part for a service business is per-person or per-source views: each rep sees only their own leads, and the owner sees "leads from Google Business Profile this month against last month" without building a report. That covers most of what people ask for in automated reporting, as long as sources and tags are set consistently. If they are not, the filters show the mess; our account audit fixes that first.

What happened to SMS on Mexico numbers?

HighLevel says SMS is no longer supported on Mexico local phone numbers because of an upstream carrier migration. Voice and WhatsApp keep working. An "SMS not supported" label now shows on affected numbers under Settings, Phone Numbers, Manage Numbers.

Source: Mexico fixed-line SMS deprecation. If any workflow sends texts from a Mexico local number, those messages will not go out. Move them to WhatsApp or to a number that supports SMS, and check reminder and follow-up workflows that pick the sending number automatically.

What are the AI updates?

Three AI changes landed: GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna in AI Agent and GPT workflow actions (September 23), two-way voice for Ask AI on the mobile app (September 25), and an AI invoice layout builder that designs invoices from a prompt or an uploaded example (September 28, in Labs).

  • GPT-6 Sol and Luna. The model choice changes cost and accuracy for AI steps. Test on a copy before switching live workflows. Full detail in our GPT-6 in GoHighLevel post.
  • Ask AI Voice on mobile. Per the changelog, you can speak to Ask AI, hear the answer and interrupt it. Useful for staff in the field; it does not change any customer-facing automation.
  • AI invoice layouts. Per the changelog, found under Payments, Invoices and Estimates, Layouts, after enabling it in Settings, Labs. Check totals and tax lines on a test invoice before using a new layout with customers.

None of these is the customer-facing AI we build, such as an AI receptionist or Voice AI calling, but the model update affects any workflow that uses AI steps.

What should you do this week?

Check Mexico numbers if you have any, refresh snapshots if you sell or share them, set up filtered dashboard widgets for each person who reads them, and test GPT-6 on a copy of one AI workflow. The rest can wait until you need it.

  1. Settings, Phone Numbers: look for the "SMS not supported" label.
  2. Agency View, Account Snapshots: add the Smart Lists you rebuild by hand.
  3. Dashboards: one filtered view per rep, one for the owner.
  4. AI workflows: duplicate one, switch the model, compare outputs.
