What did HighLevel change for A2P registration on October 6, 2026?
On October 6, 2026, HighLevel added a live registration status to every phone number linked to an A2P 10DLC campaign. Each number now shows Pending, Registered or Failed, and fully registered numbers get an "A2P Verified" tag on the phone numbers page. Existing numbers were updated automatically.
The source is the HighLevel changelog entry Real-Time A2P Number Registration Status, filed under Phone System and dated October 6, 2026. No setting needs to be switched on.
Why does A2P number status matter?
A US business text sent from a 10DLC number that is not yet registered to an approved campaign is blocked by the carrier. Before this change, HighLevel only showed that a number had been submitted, so teams often started texting too early and saw messages fail with error 30034.

Twilio documents error 30034 as "US A2P 10DLC - Message from an Unregistered Number." Its error page lists the usual causes: a number not attached to an approved campaign, a brand or campaign registration that is not complete, a number missing from the campaign's sender pool, or more than one number on a Sole Proprietor campaign, which allows only one.
HighLevel's entry says carrier registration could take "a few minutes to several days" and that fixing failed sends often needed a support ticket. The new status shows the problem before the first message goes out.
What do Pending, Registered and Failed mean?
Pending means the carrier has not finished registering the number, Registered means it is ready for A2P texting and carries the A2P Verified tag, and Failed means the registration was rejected and needs attention before the number can text US recipients.
If the status shows Failed because the campaign was rejected, HighLevel's updated A2P rejection guidance (October 8, 2026) tells you which fix applies to how you registered.
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Submitted, carrier registration not finished | Wait. HighLevel says registration usually completes within 24 hours and a Pending status in that window is expected. Hold campaigns that use this number. |
| Registered | Ready; shows the "A2P Verified" tag | Start texting, with consent and opt-out handling in place. |
| Failed | Registration rejected | Check the brand and campaign details, the sender pool and the campaign type, then resubmit. |
What should GoHighLevel users do now?
Open the phone numbers page in each sub-account, look for any number that is Pending or Failed, pause texting workflows that send from those numbers, and add a status check to your onboarding so new clients do not text before their numbers show Registered.
- Check every sub-account. Agencies should look across all client accounts, including the ones that have not complained.
- Fix Failed numbers first. They will not deliver to US recipients until the registration issue is resolved. Our GoHighLevel A2P 10DLC registration guide covers the common rejection reasons.
- Gate new campaigns. Do not turn on a reminder or nurture workflow for a new number until it shows Registered.
- Update onboarding. For agencies and SaaS accounts, add a step that tells the client to wait for the A2P Verified tag. Our GoHighLevel SaaS setup includes this in the welcome flow.
- Keep consent records. Registration is one part. Texting rules on consent and opt-out still apply; see the FCC consent revocation changes, what happens when a contact replies STOP and what time businesses can text customers.
Does this change how long A2P approval takes?
No. The change shows status; it does not speed up carrier registration. HighLevel's note says registration usually completes within 24 hours but depends on the carrier, so plan launches with a buffer.
What changes is the guesswork. Before, a team waited a day and hoped. Now the number tells you when it is ready, and a Failed status shows up without a support ticket. A2P registration is part of every GoHighLevel setup we do, as in the Smile Bright dental build.
