What did HighLevel change in A2P rejection guidance?
On October 8, 2026 HighLevel rewrote the text inside the "View required fixes" window that opens next to each A2P campaign rejection reason. The most common reasons now have separate guidance for campaigns registered through the Chat Widget (Quick Setup) and through Manual Setup, because the fix sits in a different place for each.
The changelog entry lists five changes:
- Guidance for your setup. Chat Widget and Manual Setup registrations get different steps for the most common rejection reasons.
- Only steps you can act on. If you registered through the Chat Widget, the guidance focuses on what you control: your website, other forms on your site and your policy links. It no longer asks you to change the consent wording or form fields the widget creates for you.
- Clearer next steps. Each reason says in plain language what happened, then lists the actions to take.
- Exact wording where carriers require it. For reasons like privacy policy verification, the steps include the required statement.
- A warning when resubmitting will not help. For reasons like a business type mismatch, the window says what has to change first.
Before this, the window showed the carrier's generic guidance, written for every registration method. HighLevel's own note says Chat Widget users "were often asked to fix fields or consent wording they never wrote."
Where do you find the required fixes for a rejected A2P campaign?
In HighLevel, go to Settings, then Phone System, then Trust Center. Open Brands & Campaigns, select the Campaigns tab, find the campaign marked Rejected, and click "View required fixes" next to each rejection reason. Each one shows the error code, the rejection category, what it means and the correction needed.
That path and the four fields come from HighLevel's help article A2P Campaign Rejections: Required Fixes and Vetting Errors (modified September 9, 2026). A campaign can have more than one reason. Open each one and fix all of them before you resubmit, or the campaign comes back rejected for the reason you skipped.
Which A2P rejection codes come up most, and how do you fix them?
The codes below cover the usual problem areas: consent wording, websites that do not describe the business, personal email addresses, and registrations not written in English. Each has a specific fix in HighLevel's guide, summarized here.
| Code | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| 30909 | Reviewers cannot verify how people opt in | Describe every way people consent; if the form is behind a login, provide hosted screenshots |
| 30913 | Marketing consent is bundled with transactional consent | Add a separate consent for promotional texts, or state that you only send transactional ones |
| 30923 | Text consent is part of mandatory terms | Make SMS consent a separate, optional step |
| 30924 | Consent text is missing required disclosures | Add message type, frequency, "message and data rates may apply" and STOP instructions near the box |
| 30925 | No checkbox, or the checkbox is pre-checked | Add an SMS checkbox that is unchecked by default |
| 30908 | No privacy policy found | Link the privacy policy in the message flow and make it reachable on the site |
| 30919 / 30920 | Website lacks business details, or is only a form | Add company name, services, contact details, privacy policy and a mention of your SMS program |
| 30910 | Registration fields are not in English | Write fields in English; add English translations next to non-English sample messages |
| 30911 | Same text pasted into several fields, or identical samples | Write unique text for each field and distinct sample messages |
| 30971 | Contact email on Gmail, Yahoo or similar | Use an email address on your business domain |
| 30892 | Sample messages use a public link shortener | Replace bit.ly-style links with full HTTPS links |
Source: HighLevel Help Center, A2P rejection guide, modified September 9, 2026. Content codes in the 30940 to 30963 range (cannabis, loans, gambling, phishing and similar) are not eligible for resubmission at all, so fixing the wording will not help there.
Why do Spanish-language businesses get A2P code 30910?
Carriers require the registration fields in English. A business that writes its campaign description and sample messages in Spanish gets code 30910, even if every text it sends will be in Spanish. The fix is an English registration with English translations shown next to the Spanish sample messages.
This one matters for bilingual markets like Miami, where a business may run its whole customer conversation in Spanish. Plan the registration with both languages in mind from the start: write the description in English, include Spanish samples, and put an English translation beside each one. We cover the other Miami-specific settings, including Florida's texting law, on our GoHighLevel expert page for Miami, and full builds on our GoHighLevel agency page for Miami. Florida also lets consumers sue over unwanted sales texts; our FTSA lawsuit research counts those cases by year.
What should you check before resubmitting an A2P campaign?
Read every rejection reason, fix all of them, and then review the whole campaign, including fields that were not flagged. HighLevel's guide says the description, use case, sample messages, website, opt-in flow, privacy policy and terms should all match each other before you resubmit.
Before you resubmit an A2P campaign
- Do not resubmit while it is Pending. HighLevel says to wait for review to finish and not to create a second campaign meanwhile.
- Check whether the field can be edited. The use case and opt-in message may not be editable on resubmission. If one of them needs to change, a new campaign may be needed.
- Match the website to the registration. Same business name, same services, privacy policy linked, SMS program mentioned.
- Check the form itself. Unchecked SMS box, full disclosure text, and a way to decline texts and still submit the form.
- Link the number after approval. If the campaign is approved but texts still fail, check that the sending number is linked to it. HighLevel's real-time A2P status, added October 6, shows this per number.
What does this change mean for GoHighLevel users?
Fewer wasted resubmissions. If you registered through the Chat Widget, the guidance no longer sends you to edit consent wording you cannot change, so you can go straight to the website, form or policy fix that actually caused the rejection. Agencies managing many sub-accounts save the most time. For a real build where texting had to work from the first week, see the Realeshome real estate case study.
It does not change what carriers require. The rules behind each code are the same, so an account with a weak opt-in form or a thin website will still be rejected. If you have been rejected twice, it is usually faster to have the whole registration reviewed than to fix one field at a time. Our A2P 10DLC registration guide walks through every field, and we fix rejected campaigns as part of a GoHighLevel account cleanup, from $200 at the time of writing.
Questions about the new A2P rejection guidance
Do I need to do anything to get the new guidance?
No. The changelog describes it as a rewrite of the guidance inside the existing "View required fixes" window. Open a rejected campaign in the Trust Center and the new text appears next to each reason.
What is the difference between Chat Widget and Manual Setup registration?
Chat Widget, also called Quick Setup, registers your campaign using the chat widget and the consent fields it creates for you. Manual Setup means you filled in the description, opt-in flow and sample messages yourself. The fix for the same rejection reason sits in a different place for each.
Can I resubmit any rejected A2P campaign?
No. HighLevel's guide lists forbidden and high-risk content codes, such as cannabis, payday loans, gambling and phishing, that are not eligible for resubmission. Fixing the wording does not help for those; the use case itself is not allowed on A2P 10DLC.
