Is Make.com free to use?

Yes. Make's Free plan gives 1,000 credits a month, two active scenarios, runs of up to 10 minutes and files up to 5 MB. We read Make's pricing page and Help Center on October 30, 2026 to list every Free limit, what you cannot do on Free, and how fast 1,000 credits go.

Key takeaways

  • Make Free includes 1,000 credits a month, two active scenarios, 10-minute runs and 5 MB files.
  • On Free you cannot buy extra credits, use Make Code or connect your own AI key.
  • A polling trigger checking every 15 minutes uses 96 credits a day and empties Free in about 10 days.
  • Cancelling a paid plan drops you to Free with no carried-over credits and one team.

Is Make.com free to use?

Yes. Make has a Free plan with 1,000 credits a month, two active scenarios, runs capped at 10 minutes and a 5 MB file limit. It is enough to learn Make and run light jobs, but most business workflows outgrow it quickly.

Every figure on this page comes from Make's own pricing page or Help Center, read October 30, 2026. Where Make does not publish a number for the Free plan, we say so instead of guessing. If you already know you need Make for real volume, our Make scenario build service page covers paid plan costs, error handling and what we build. This page stays on one question: what the Free plan gives you and where it stops.

What do you get on the Make Free plan?

The Free plan includes 1,000 credits a month, 1 MB of data storage (one data store), two active scenarios at a time, a 10-minute limit per run and files up to 5 MB. Make's AI Provider works on Free.

Two more allowances scale with credits. Make's pricing page grants 5 GB of data transfer and a webhook queue of 667 items for every 10,000 credits. Make does not print the Free figures, but by the same ratio 1,000 credits works out to about 0.5 GB of data transfer and about 67 queued webhook calls. That is our arithmetic, so treat it as an estimate.

What can't you do on the Make Free plan?

On Free you cannot buy extra credits, run the Make Code app, connect your own AI provider key or keep more than two scenarios active. Some premium AI models are also limited to paid plans.

  • No extra credits. Make's extra credits guide says buying extra credits is for paid plans. When the 1,000 credits are gone, your scenarios stop until the month resets or you upgrade.
  • No custom code. The Make Code app (JavaScript and Python) is listed for Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise only.
  • No own AI keys. Make's credits guide lists custom AI provider connections as paid-plan only, so on Free every AI token is paid for in Make credits.
  • Some models are paid-only. Make's October 12, 2026 release note says GPT-6.1 Sol in the OpenAI Create a Prompt module is available only on paid plans, and that on Free, scenarios set to a premium Claude model such as Opus now run on Claude Haiku 5.5 instead.
  • Two active scenarios. Each AI agent module tool counts as an active scenario too, according to Make's guide to module tools for AI agents. One agent with two tools can use your whole allowance.

How far do 1,000 Make credits go?

About 250 runs of a four-module scenario that starts from a webhook. A polling trigger that checks every 15 minutes uses 96 credits a day on its own and empties the Free allowance in about 10 days.

Trigger credits per monthBars: in a 30-day month a webhook trigger uses no credits while it waits, a polling trigger checking once a day uses 30, hourly uses 720 and every 15 minutes uses 2,880, nearly three times the Free plan allowance of 1,000 credits.Webhook trigger, waiting0 creditsWebhook trigger, waiting: 0 creditsPolling once a day30 creditsPolling once a day: 30 creditsPolling every hour720 creditsPolling every hour: 720 creditsPolling every 15 minutes2,880 creditsPolling every 15 minutes: 2,880 creditsFree plan allowance: 1,000 credits a month.
Source: Make Help Center, how features use credits (1 credit per trigger check), read October 30, 2026. Arithmetic ours.

Make counts one credit for each module run, and a polling trigger counts one credit every time it checks, even when nothing new is there. That rule, from Make's guide to how features use credits, decides how long the Free plan lasts. We worked out four common set-ups for a 30-day month.

Assumptions. Each run handles one record, so every module runs once. No AI steps, no iterators, no retries. A webhook trigger runs only when data arrives. Polling figures count only the checks, before any real work.
Set-upCredits usedWhat 1,000 credits covers
Webhook trigger plus 3 actions (4 modules)4 per run1,000 / 4 = 250 runs a month
Polling trigger every 15 minutes4 x 24 = 96 checks a day1,000 / 96 = about 10.4 days, then the scenario stops
Polling trigger every hour24 x 30 = 720 checks a month280 credits left for work: 280 / 3 = 93 runs of the 3 action modules
Polling trigger once a day30 checks a month970 credits left: 970 / 3 = 323 runs of the 3 action modules

The table shows why the trigger type matters more than the plan. A form or CRM that can send a webhook costs nothing while it waits. Our guide to fixing a Make webhook that is not working covers the queue and status codes if you switch to one.

When should you move from the Free plan to a paid Make plan?

Move when a scenario handles real customer or money data, when you need more than two scenarios on, when runs pass 10 minutes or files pass 5 MB, or when 1,000 credits is not enough for a month.

Free or paid?

Free or paid Make planDecision: if the scenario handles customer or money data, needs more than two active scenarios, runs over 10 minutes or uses files over 5 MB, move to a paid plan; otherwise the Free plan is fine for learning and light tests.Live data, 3+ scenarios, long runs?Or files over 5 MB, or 1,000 credits too fewPaid planCan buy extra creditsFree is fineLearning and light testsFree plans cannot buy extra credits.
Our decision rule, from the Free plan limits on this page.

Make does not print plan prices as plain text on its pricing page, so we use the prices Make quotes in its own Help Center. Its extra credits guide uses a $9 plan with 10,000 credits as an example ($0.0009 a credit), and its change your subscription guide quotes Core at $113.85 for 150,000 credits a month. Check the live price for your tier before you buy.

The bigger reason to move is safety. On Free you cannot buy extra credits, so a busy week can stop every scenario until the month resets. On a paid plan you can buy credits in units of 1,000 or turn on auto-purchasing. Our page on what happens when Make runs out of credits explains exactly what stops and how to restart it.

For the full cost picture, including what we charge to build and how Make compares with Zapier and n8n at 5,000 and 50,000 runs, see our Make.com automation agency page, our Make vs n8n comparison, or the list of software costs that sit on top of a build.

What happens if you cancel a paid Make plan and go back to Free?

Your paid plan runs to the end of the billing cycle, then the organization drops to Free with 1,000 credits a month. Unused credits are not carried over, and you keep only one team.

Make's cancellation guide adds three rules worth knowing before you cancel:

  • One Free organization per account. If you already own a Free organization, a second cancelled organization becomes unlicensed, and you cannot run any scenarios in it until you subscribe again.
  • A one-month wait. After you set an organization to Free, you cannot set another one to Free for the next month.
  • One team. The Free plan supports one team, so you choose which team to keep when you cancel.

The pricing page FAQ also says that when you downgrade, active scenarios that use features of a higher plan are stopped. Check scenarios that use Make Code, your own AI keys or large files before you go back to Free.

More questions about the Make Free plan

Do unused Make credits roll over on the Free plan?

No. Make's pricing page says credits expire at the end of the term, and the Free plan gives a fresh 1,000 credits each month. If you cancel a paid plan, Make's cancellation guide says unused credits are not transferred to the Free plan. Plan your heaviest jobs early in the month if you rely on Free, or move to a paid plan where you can buy more.

Can you use AI on the Make Free plan?

Yes, through Make's AI Provider, which Make lists as available on all plans. Tokens are then paid in credits on top of one credit per operation, so AI steps drain 1,000 credits fast. Connecting your own OpenAI or Claude key needs a paid plan. See our table of Make credit costs for each AI model before you choose one.

Is Make free for nonprofits?

Make does not list a free nonprofit plan. Its pricing page says it supports non-profit organizations and asks NGOs and NPOs to contact Make for details. It also mentions a Start-up Plan for companies under 20 employees. Neither offer has published terms on the pages we read on October 30, 2026, so ask Make directly before you plan around them.

Can a business run live workflows on the Make Free plan?

It can, but we would not run anything customers depend on there. With two active scenarios, a 10-minute run limit and no way to buy extra credits, one busy week can stop the workflow until the month resets. Free is a good place to test a scenario. Move it to a paid plan before it handles leads, orders or invoices.

Can you build our Make scenarios on a Free account?

We can design and test on Free, then move the work to a paid plan on your own account before launch. The strategy call and audit are free. A small build of two or three scenarios is about $1,000 at the time of writing, and fixes to what we build are free for 6 months. You keep the Make account and pay Make directly.
