What changed with GoHighLevel AI Studio?
On September 22, 2026 HighLevel moved AI Studio out of Labs and made it live for every location. AI Studio builds websites, landing pages and small web apps from a plain-language description. With the launch, sub-account user and admin access is off by default, and AI Studio usage is now billed through HighLevel's AI Employee plans or pay-per-use instead of the free summer offer.
The launch is in HighLevel's changelog entry AI Studio Live for All, and the billing is in HighLevel's AI Studio pricing article, updated the same day. When HighLevel first described AI Studio in April 2026 it was a free Labs feature with more than 22,000 projects created by over 7,500 users, and 23% of those projects published, according to HighLevel's announcement.
For agencies and businesses that build pages inside GoHighLevel, two things need attention this week: who in each sub-account can use it, and who pays for the usage.
Who can use AI Studio now?
Every location has AI Studio, but sub-account users and admins do not get access automatically. HighLevel kept access only for sub-account users who already had AI Studio switched on in Labs. Everyone else needs it granted, either to all users or to named people, from a banner on the Home page.
HighLevel says the banner shows for agency owners, admins and users with write access, and not for sub-account users or read-only agency users. In practice that means your clients will not see a prompt; you decide whether they get the builder. We would grant it to the people who already edit pages and funnels, and leave it off for staff who only work conversations and calendars, so nobody spends AI usage by accident.
What does AI Studio cost?
AI Studio is billed by usage. On the AI Employee Growth plan ($50 a month per location) usage is included within five-hour usage windows; AI Employee Unlimited ($97 a month per location) includes three times the Growth allowance; without a plan, usage is billed at token cost. HighLevel's own examples range from $0.60 for a one-page lead capture site to $1.30 for an image-heavy landing page.
HighLevel example AI Studio projects
| HighLevel example project | Reported cost |
|---|---|
| Single-page lead capture site | $0.60 |
| Seven-page site with a CMS | $1.10 |
| Image-forward landing page | $1.30 |
The point HighLevel makes, and the one that matters for budgeting, is that "cost is not simply based on the number of pages." Generated images drive most of the cost, and every round of edits adds to it. Subscription users get alerts at 70%, 85% and 100% of their allowance; pay-per-use accounts get a notice for every $50 spent. The plan prices are from HighLevel's AI product pricing article, updated September 28, 2026. Our GoHighLevel pricing guide covers the base plans those add-ons sit on.
Should you build pages with AI Studio or by hand?
Use AI Studio for fast drafts, internal tools and short-lived campaign pages. Keep a hand-built page, or a reviewed AI draft, for pages that must rank in search, load fast on mobile, and send every form into the right pipeline, because those details decide whether a page makes money and a generator does not check them for you.
- Good fits: a one-off event page, a quick offer test, a calculator or quiz for a campaign, a first draft to react to.
- Check before publishing: the form writes to the right contact fields and workflow; the page has one clear heading and a real title and description; images are compressed; claims and prices are yours, not invented.
- Keep hand-built: your main service pages and anything you want found in Google.
That is how we approach landing page development and GoHighLevel funnels: the generator saves hours on layout, and a person checks the parts that affect leads. The ITS airline partner website case study shows what a hand-built site focused on enquiries can do.
What should agencies do now?
Decide access per client, decide who pays, and write it into your offer. If clients use AI Studio on your agency's plan, their usage is your cost. If you resell under a white-label plan, add AI usage to the price or pass it through, the same way you handle calling and texting fees.
Four settings to decide this week
- List the sub-accounts where someone builds pages, and grant access only there.
- Check which AI Employee plan each location is on, or whether it runs on pay-per-use.
- Set a monthly usage expectation per client and watch the 70% alert.
- Update your white-label pricing if AI builds are part of what you sell.
This sits alongside the other HighLevel releases from the same weeks, summarised in our GoHighLevel September 2026 updates.
Questions about AI Studio going live
Is GoHighLevel AI Studio still free?
No. The free Labs period has ended. Usage is now included in the AI Employee plans up to their limits, or billed at token cost on pay-per-use.
Why can my client not see AI Studio?
Because sub-account access is off by default since the launch, unless that user had it in Labs. An agency owner or admin grants it from the Home page banner.
Can AI Studio pages connect to GoHighLevel workflows?
AI Studio can build forms, calendars and other interactive parts. Test each form with a real submission and check that the contact, tags and workflow fire before you send traffic to it.
